Scouts Attendance

Scouts are encouraged to attend as many scouting functions as they can. Attendance at the Monday night meetings will keep Scouts informed about current activities. Regular attendance at the Monday night meetings will assure that the scout is getting advancement opportunities and support. Scouts that miss a Monday meeting should call their Patrol Leader to check on current activities and check the schedule posted on the web site.

Scouts are also encouraged to attend as many of the campouts and trips as then can. Some of the advancement tasks and scout skills are best taught and done during campouts. In addition to the fun activity each campout is built around, there are scout skills and advancement opportunities incorporated into the trips.

When a scout is elected to a position of responsibility it is even more critical that he attend planning activities. The boy scout program is designed to work with scouts as the leadership. The other boys in the troop are depending on him to do his job to the best of his ability.

Many Scouts are also active and involved with school, church and / or sports programs. The troop recognizes and understands that there will be times when a Scout may miss a considerable amount of time from the program. However, this should not deter the Scout from continuing to advance as long as he seeks out help and works toward the listed requirements in the Boy Scout Handbook. Then the Scout is to bring his work in for validation when he can.

Bring a Friend

Sharing the scouting experience is fun. Boys may join the troop at any time during the year. Scouts are encouraged to bring along a guest to check out our program at any regular meeting. With advance permission guest can also come along on the other activities such as a camping trip.

Any scout or scouter that helps a new boy join the troop is eligible to wear the "Recruiter" patch on their uniform.
